Clallam County commissioners will consider accepting $500,000 of federal Surface Transportation Regional Funding for the McDonald Creek Bridge replacement project when they meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday’s business meeting will be preceded by a Monday work session at 9 a.m.. Both will be in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Acceptance of federal money will reduce the amount of local funding needed for the $5.4 million project
Other agenda items on Tuesday include:
• Agreement with Port of Port Angeles for use of a portion of airport property for staging of Demo Derby participants on Aug. 20 during the Clallam County Fair.
• Fair rodeo stock agreement for $15,450 with Gold Buckle Rodeo Company.
• Agreement with Jefferson County for outreach services for pollution identification and correction grant plan.
• Agreement with the state Department of Agriculture for knotweed control grant.
• Bid opening for a bituminous asphalt pressure distributor.
• Notice that the preliminary 2018 budget will be available Sept. 12.
At the Monday work session, commissioners will discuss an agreement for the purchase of 11.06 acres for $109,674 for the Olympic Discovery Trail between Freshwater Bay and Camp Hayden Road from the estate of Alvin F. Oien.
Other agenda items are:
• The federal money for the McDonald Creek Bridge replacement project.
• A request to allow the county engineer to hire a second engineer at this time rather than wait until the second half of 2018.
Sequim schools
The Sequim School Board will consider approval of issuance of $3.5 million in limited general obligation bonds to renovate and expand the central kitchen facility when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday.
The board will meet at 503 N. Sequim Ave.
The board will consider several policies and hear reports on back to school activities and strategic planning.
Quillayute Valley schools
The Quillayute Valley School Board will conduct a budget hearing at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be in the library of Forks High School, 261 Spartan Ave.
The regular board meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a resolution establishing compensation for the general manager when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Commissioners will meet in the Lake Crescent boardroom at the Carlsborg main office at 104 Hooker Road.
The also will consider declaring Itron. Inc., the sole source supplier, and the prequalifications of contractors to perform work for the district.
An executive session is set to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee.
Port Angeles schools
The Port Angeles School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St.

Peninsula College
Peninsula College trustees will attend an annual retreat at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The retreat will be in Cornaby Center on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Conservation district
Clallam County Conservation District commissioners will consider an amendment of the agreement with Sequim Prairie-Tri Irrigation Associates when they meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Commissioners will meet at Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Suite H, in Port Angeles.
They also will consider an addition to an irrigation inefficiencies grant. Whatcom IT services fee schedule changes and discuss bookkeeping and administrative assistant positions.
