Clallam County commissioners will award a bid for the first phase of the Lower Dungeness River floodplain restoration and levee/road realignment project Monday.
The business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Commissioners opened three bids for the earthwork phase, or Phase 1, of the multi-year habitat restoration project last week. A low bid of $5.53 million was submitted by Scarsella Brothers, Inc. of Kent.
The selected contractor will build a setback levee for the Dungeness River and an embankment for a new section of Towne Road to allow the river to reclaim its historic floodplain.
Other agenda items the Tuesday meeting include:
• Amended agreements with Shannon & Wilson, Inc. for the Lower Dungeness River floodplain project.
• A letter of support for a Housing Trust Fund application.
• An agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for the North Olympic Lead Entity for salmon.
• A request for proposals and qualifications for architecture and engineering services for a joint pubic safety facility in west Port Angeles.
• A resolution reappointing William “Bill” Hughes to the Park and Recreation Board.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Discussion items include:
• An American Rescue Plan Act update.
• A 10,000 Years Institute update.
• An agreement with the state Department of Social and Health Services for adult developmental disability services.
• A resolution appointing Paul Cunningham to the Peninsula Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider a diagnostic imaging X-ray purchase and a 2021-2024 strategic plan in a virtual meeting at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Clallam County Planning Commission will hear on Wednesday a Recreational Use ordinance that includes recreational vehicles, park models and camping.
