The three Jefferson County commissioners will deliberate and potentially take action on the critical areas ordinance when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Commissioners also will receive an update from the state Department of Natural Resources on the fourth quarter county income report from 2019.
In the afternoon session scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., commissioners will continue deliberations with potential action on a social media policy.
Items on the consent agenda include a resolution requested by county Prosecuting Attorney James Kennedy to call on the state Legislature to fully fund the State Patrol Crime Laboratory and Toxicology Laboratory.
Also on the consent agenda is a potential agreement with Bruch and Bruch Construction, Inc. for $202,917 to purchase aggregate to be used in the county public works road operations in 2020 and 2021.
Port Townsend city
The Port Townsend City Council will discuss two topics during a workshop when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will discuss a proposal on a citywide ban on single-use plastic straws in addition to its sewer outfall project from the wastewater treatment plant.
In other city meetings, the Council Rules committee will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in council chambers.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider severance for executive staff when they meet in a regular session at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The regular session will be in chambers at 333 Benedict St., and will be preceded by a public workshop at 9:30 a.m.
Also in the regular session, commissioners will consider the purchase of a hydraulic self-propelled boat handler for yard operations, and they will discuss installing a visiting pilot flight center at Jefferson County International Airport.
Joe Davis, a risk manager and underwriter for Enduris Washington, will speak about insurance services Enduris provides to the port during the preceding workshop.
Chimacum schools
The Chimacum School Board will consider a contract for the Chimacum Unified Drivers and Specialists when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be at Chimacum Junior/Senior High School, 91 West Valley Road.
Items on the consent agenda include the boys soccer program combining with Port Townsend School District.
The board also plans to accept a donation of $1,571.80 from the Jefferson County Association of Realtors to be used for students in need.
Separately, high school junior Kyle Caldwell will be recognized for his achievements at the state wrestling tournament.
The board also will receive an update from the communications committee, which has been working on several initiatives, including a social media policy.
In addition, Superintendent Rick Thompson will provide the school district’s response to COVID-19 and how to talk to children about the virus.
Public Utility District
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a special meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be at the Chimacum Fire Station, 9193 Rhody Drive.

The Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
