U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer will host a series of town hall meetings this month, with two on the North Olympic Peninsula.
The first in the series will be at the auditorium at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. this coming Sunday for Jefferson County residents.
The Clallam County town hall will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Little Theater on the Port Angeles Peninsula College campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Doors open a half-hour before the start of each town hall.
Kilmer, a Democrat living in Gig Harbor, represents the 6th Congressional District, which includes Clallam and Jefferson counties.
Participants in town hall meetings will hear an update on Congress and ask questions.
In 2016, Kilmer hosted seven town hall meetings across the district. So far in 2017, he’s held four and continues to hold telephone town halls, open office hours and meet-and-greets with constituents on ferries, public buses and at their places of employment.
“I work for the people I represent, and it’s important to me that I get opportunities to hear directly from you,” Kilmer said.
“I hope folks will be able to join one of my upcoming town halls to share their ideas and concerns.”
Kilmer has scheduled other town hall meetings in Tacoma on Aug. 7, Poulsbo on Aug. 9, Belfair on Aug. 10 and Aberdeen on Aug. 13.
