Come to the PDN Bridal Show on Saturday

Whether you’re going to the chapel and going to get married, or maybe just getting a kick out of rummaging through rows and rows of wedding paraphernalia, Saturday’s Bridal Show in Sequim will probably have something for you.

For the third-straight year, Peninsula Daily News is sponsoring the winter Bridal Show at the Guy Cole Convention Center at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

The show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sue Stoneman, PDN’s advertising operations manager, said this year’s show will feature 20 vendors, three bridal fashion runway shows and loads of door prizes.

“It’s the perfect place on the North Olympic Peninsula to come and check out everything you’ll need to get married,” Stoneman said.

“We’re going to have florists, photographers, rental venues, gowns, lingerie, financial planners for first-time homebuyers, tuxedo rentals, bakers, food caterers — basically whatever could be useful to you.”

Peninsula-based

All the vendors scheduled to have booths at the show are based in the North Olympic Peninsula, she said.

While traditionally the Bridal Show has attracted would-be brides, their mothers and other women, men are also welcome to attend, Stoneman said.

“We will have plenty on hand for men who want to be a part of the wedding planning process or are just curious,” she said.

“Even if you’re not planning a wedding, but are putting on a big party, we’ll have people who can help you out.”

Last year, more than 400 guests attended the Bridal Show.

In addition to the vendors, models will be showing off custom wedding gown designs at three scheduled fashion runway shows, scheduled for 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., according to planners.

The fashion shows are sponsored by Belva Bodey, owner of Black Diamond Bridal in Port Angeles.

Start planning now

Stoneman said couples planning to marry in the summer should start planning their wedding now.

“In order to reserve your caterer and other services geared for weddings, you’ll need to do that now before they get booked,” she said.

Stoneman said most vendors will be holding drawings or giving away door prizes such as wedding albums, gift certificates and other wedding gifts.

“There’ll be lots of free samples, drawings and giveaways,” Stoneman said.

“Everyone who comes will walk away with something.”
