Gov. Gary Locke on Friday praised watershed restoration efforts under way in Clallam County, calling them a model for other communities in Washington.
“I wish we could just kind of duplicate this all across the state,” Locke said Friday afternoon as he stood outside the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park in Sequim.
The center was Locke’s last stop in a daylong itinerary that allowed him to see restoration projects in the Dungeness River watershed and at Jimmycomelately Creek, as well as the results of a project to remove derelict fishing gear from the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
