Clallam voters return more than 6 percent of ballots in primary election

PORT ANGELES — A total of 6.64 percent of Clallam County’s registered voters who received ballots for the Aug. 2 primary election had returned them as of Thursday.

Friday totals were not posted on the Auditor’s website.

Auditor Shoona Riggs said that 3,255 of the 49,004 registered voters sent ballots in the all-mail election had returned them as of Thursday.

Jefferson County reported that, as of Friday, 2,407 people out of the 23,607 registered voters who received ballots had cast their ballots, for a voter turnout of 10.20 percent.

The top-two primary will narrow the field to two candidates. The two who receive the most votes will advance to the Nov. 8 general election regardless of party affiliation.

■   Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Drop boxes are available inside the Auditor’s Office or at a drive-up drop box off Fourth St.

■   Sequim Village Shopping Center, 651 W. Washington St.

■   Forks District Court lobby, 502 E. Division St.
