PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Trust Lands Advisory Committee is seeking new members to represent the North Olympic Group of the Sierra Club, Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society, city of Port Angeles and Olympic Medical Center.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 5.
The Charter Review Commission recommended the committee to assess the management of state forest board lands, also known as forest board transfer lands.
The ad hoc committee will review, analyze and report findings to the board of county commissioners in a written report by the end of next year.
In its first meeting last Friday, members agreed to expand the group from 16 to a maximum of 20 members to accommodate four groups that had expressed an interest in being represented.
Monthly meetings will be held at noon on the third Friday of the month at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Those who receive endorsement from the North Olympic Group of the Sierra Club, Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society, city of Port Angeles or Olympic Medical Center are asked to contact Cindy LoPiccolo at the Clallam County commissioners office at 360-417-2233 or llopiccolo@co.clallam.wa.us.
