PORT ANGELES — Clallam Transit has announced a pair of weekday service improvements affecting the No. 14 Forks shuttle and the No. 30 Sequim-Port Angeles commuter lines.
The No. 14 route has a new trip this year that leaves the Port Angeles Gateway transit center at 11:15 a.m. and arrives at the Forks Transit Center at about 12:45 p.m.
The addition fills a former gap in service from Port Angeles to Forks between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Transit officials said.
The No. 30 commuter has a new trip that leaves The Gateway transit center at 5:30 a.m. and arrives at the Sequim Transit Center at 6:05 a.m.
Both changes return previously out-of-service buses into service.
New bus stops
Meanwhile, Clallam Transit announced new bus stops and other improvements to system facilities.
A new bus stop is on Marine Drive at the walk-in entrance to the Port Angeles Boat Haven.
The former bus stop on Front Street west of Oak Street in Port Angeles has been restored, officials said.
A passenger bus shelter has been installed along eastbound U.S. Highway 101 in Beaver, which has become a mandatory stop for all No. 14 Forks and No. 16 Clallam Bay/Neah Bay buses.
A passenger bench has been installed for the Pioneer Park bus stop on Washington Street in Sequim.
The last of six shelters have been installed along the newly widened stretch of U.S. Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim.
Shelters are along Kitchen-Dick and Shore roads, Pierson and Dryke roads and North and South Barr roads.
