PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center has been named one of the top 100 U.S. hospitals based on an evaluation of its finances and community investment.
“Less than 1 percent of U.S. hospitals received 100 percent on the survey,”‘ said Rhonda LoPresti, OMC’s director of marketing and public relations.
LoPresti told the OMC board of commissioners Wednesday night that she was proud to note that Olympic Medical Center was one of them.
She said OMC was one of only three medical centers and hospitals chosen for the “top 100” honor in Washington state.
The evaluation was made by Cleverley & Associates of Worthington, Ohio. It created a measurement system that it says gauges the value that a hospital provides to its community.
About 3,400 hospitals and medical centers were evaluated nationwide for 2004.
