PORT ANGELES – Clallam County has set aside $30,650 to keep a rural West End road from slip-slidin’ away.
County commissioners Tuesday appropriated the money to realign Hermison Road west of the Bogachiel River off state Highway 110.
County Engineer Ross Tyler said the work should be finished by late summer or early fall.
The road, he said, runs to a small area of homes.
“The road has been slipping away for a number of years,” he said.
A property owner in the neighborhood has donated the right of way that the realigned road will follow, allowing the county to proceed with construction.
