Clallam County commissioners will consider a $490,000 agreement with the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau to promote year-round tourism Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other action items include:
• A $60,000 contract with the Clallam County Economic Development Corp.
• A letter to the state Health Care Authority providing notification of the county’s intent to continue operation of county-based behavioral health administrative service organization.
• A $15,754 contract with First Step Family Support Center for a supported parenting project.
• A consolidated contract with the state Department of Health for public health services through 2020.
• A federal grant application for services for victims and survivors to help Court Appointed Special Advocates meet national standard requirements.
• A request for qualifications and letters of interest from architecture and engineering firms for 2018 professional services.
• A request for proposals for 2018 services for a developmental disabilities capacity building.
• Approval of the Chemical Dependency/Mental Health Committee’s recommendations for 2018 funding proposals.
• A resolution calling for a Jan. 23 hearing to declare one Glock 22 .40-caliber pistol with three magazines as surplus.
• A resolution appointing Bruce Guckenberg to the Opportunity Fund Board.
• A resolution reappointing George Winn and Louis “Darren” Rentas to the Fair Advisory Board.
• A resolution reappointing Julianne Murrain to the Homelessness Task Force.
• A letter approving an assembly permit application for the Olympic Relay Adventure.
• Resolutions to initiate county road projects for construction pavement striping and traffic control devices.
• Recognition of Anne Doig for 26 years of service to Clallam County.
An executive session will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday for the board to discuss with legal counsel and department heads a federal lawsuit filed by bed and breakfast developer Judy Lee.
Commissioners will begin their weekly work session at 7:30 a.m. Monday in the small conference room (150) in the commissioners’ office to discuss and establish priorities and goals for 2018.
The main work session will begin at 9 a.m. in Room 160.
Discussion items include:
• A resolution establishing right of way acquisition procedures and appointing staff for the acquisition process.
• A briefing on a draft ordinance and call for hearing on proposed amendments to Title 29 Subdivisions and Title 33 Zoning.
• A letter to the state Legislature in support of the William Shore Pool District’s request for funding.
At 1 p.m. Monday, commissioners will discuss state, county and Serenity House of Clallam County commitments to “Housing First” and the impact on the county housing crises response system.
Lodging tax committee
The Clallam County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will discuss how the lodging tax advisory committees in Clallam County can work together better when it meets at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The meeting will be in the commissioners’ board room, (160), at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will swear in re-elected commissionaires and elect officers at a special meeting at 9 a.m. Monday.
Commissioners will meet at the port administrative building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
They will discuss legislative priorities, consider acceptance of the T3 headline dolphin project and consider a bid award for modernization of the elevator at the administration building.
They also will consider leases with Small Business Development Center and Airborne EDS.
At 10:30 a.m. commissioners will hear a presentation on Port Angeles School District facilities.
Sequim city
The Sequim City Council will interview applicants for a vacant council seat and select a person to fill that seat when it meets at 4 p.m. Monday.
The council will meet at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St. Applications have been received from Ron Fairclough, Richard Fleck, Jennifer States, Bernard (Buddy) Ray and David Eaton.
One will be named to fill the unexpired term vacated by John Miller, who died of cardiac arrest at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton on Nov. 29 at the age of 62. The council also will elect officers.
Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a contract for the purchase of renewable energy credits Monday.
The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Lake Crescent Boardroom at the Carlsborg main office, located at 104 Hooker Road.
Other action items for the meeting include:
• The removal of delinquent accounts from the active accounts receivable.
• A resolution to establish a temporary employee sick leave policy.
• An agreement with Zenovic & Associates, Inc. for civil engineering services.
• Purchase orders for new serviceman trucks for Port Angeles and Carlsborg.
Quillayute Valley schools
The Quillayute Valley School Board will swear in newly elected board members and elect officers when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The board will meet in the library at Forks High School, 261 Spartan Ave. The board also will review board and superintendent goals and discuss the superintendent’s evaluation process.
Conservation District
The Clallam Conservation District board will discuss a 2018 work plan and annual interlocal agreement with Clallam County on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. in Suite H at Armory Square, 228 W. First St., Port Angeles.
