Authorities dealt with a smelly situation Monday after a semi truck-tanker filled with fertilizer rolled over in the Dungeness Valley.
Towne Road just north of Woodcock Road was closed for much of the day after the truck — filled with 5,000 gallons of the odoriferous liquid fertilizer — overturned around 10:30 a.m.
Clallam County sheriff’s investigators said the driver of the truck apparently pulled too close to the road’s shoulder to let another truck pass, and the tanker turned on its side.
The driver reportedly suffered minor injuries. Most of the fertilizer load remained inside the tanker.
