PORT ANGLES – An armed robber who held up a Gales Street business at about 7:30 p.m. Monday remained at large on Tuesday.
The man, described as in his mid-30s, walked into Hi-Way Market Adult Book, 116 N. Gales St., with a pistol and ordered one of the two employees in the building to the ground, said a written statement from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.
The other employee was ordered to open the cash register.
The man took some of the money from the register and fled on foot.
No one was injured.
The amount of money taken was not specified.
The employees described the man as about 5-feet-8-inches-tall and of medium build, said the statement.
The man was wearing a hockey style mask, with a camouflage paint pattern.
He also wore a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head.
Curly blond hair was visible through parts of the mask.
Sheriff’s deputies searched the area with the help of the Port Angeles Police Department, but did not find the suspect.
Evidence collected at the scene of the robbery has not been processed yet.
