PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Planning Commission is seeking citizen input on a draft Shoreline Master Program update.
Four public hearings are scheduled this month on the proposed update to the county’s 40-year-old plan that guides shoreline development.
State-mandated Shoreline Master Programs generally apply to land within 200 feet of lakes, marine waters and rivers and streams with a flow of at least 20 cubic feet per second.
They also apply to wetlands, floodplains and critical areas.
Public comment will assist the Planning Commission in making a recommendation to the three county commissioners, who will ultimately adopt a shoreline plan.
The November draft Shoreline Master Program update is available on the Clallam County website, www.clallam.net, under “Current Issues.”
Here are the dates, times and locations of the regional public hearings:
■ Wednesday, 6:30 p.m., John Wayne Marina, 2277 W. Sequim Bay Road, Sequim.
■ Feb. 12, 1 p.m., Sekiu Community Center, 42 Rive St., Sekiu.
