PORT ANGELES — Clallam County PUD No. 1 commissioners want more study of fluoridation before the city begins adding the chemical to city drinking water.
In a Nov. 4 letter, utility district commissioners said city water customers living outside the city limit are concerned about fluoridation and asked for additional examination of the issue.
The city had planned to begin fluoridation by the first of the year.
“We wrote the letter because we had several of our customers concerned they might get some water that is fluoridated,” said Clallam PUD Commissioner Hugh Haffner.
“The letter reflects those customers’ concerns.”
