PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Public Utility District hopes to have improved power outage reporting and repair dispatching systems in place before the next storm season, General Manager Doug Nass said Monday.
The new system will include a centralized call center and geographic information system to plot reported outages, he said.
Lengthy power outages and overloaded telephone systems during heavy wind and snow storms last November and early December plagued Clallam PUD staff.
They are seeking better ways to receive and distribute outage information and send help where it is needed.
The PUD provides electrical power to all of Clallam County except inside the city of Port Angeles.
