PORT ANGELES — A new partnership with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance will bring advanced cancer care to local residents, Olympic Medical Center officials say.
Hospital commissioners voted 5-0 to approve the partnership Wednesday night.
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a collaboration of three institutions: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.
“To be able to partner with a world-class organization that includes the Hutchinson Center, UW and Children’s, is a big leap forward in health care for Peninsula residents,” said Mike Glenn, Olympic Medical Center administrator.
“This supports the need for additional oncology (cancer treatment) services in our area.”
