PORT ANGELES — After a failed bid last fall to increase sales tax for Clallam County criminal justice funding, members of the county’s law and justice community are considering bringing the issue to voters again.
This time, a 0.1 percent increase would probably go to fund the county’s 9-1-1 dispatch system, Port Angeles Police Chief Tom Riepe said in an interview Thursday.
“We have quality at this point, but it is being compromised,” he said. “We’re really struggling to provide what we think are professional services.”
