PORT ANGELES — the Clallam County Humane Society board is expected to hire a new executive director tonight, the board’s president says.
A county resident will be hired, although he declined to name the person because the board had not yet voted on the deal, the president, John Miles, said.
The board will meet in private at 6 p.m. at the Port Angeles School District administrative building, 216 E. Fourth St., and Miles said he expects the new executive director to be announced by 6:30 p.m.
“I’m really excited about this. . . . I feel like a great weight has been lifted,” Miles said Sunday.
“I think this person will be able to improve the customer service and public relations side of the shelter.”
A Humane Society subcommittee interviewed finalists in recent weeks, he said. The new executive director was gleaned from about 15 applicants.
Recently reformed
A recently reformed Humane Society, with an entirely new board, has more than 100 members, Miles said.
