PORT ANGELES — Those wondering about the cleanliness of their favorite restaurants, latte stands or convenience store stops may see how those food establishments rate — online.
Clallam County environmental health officials are taking steps to bring detailed food-establishment inspection reports to residents via the Internet.
County Health Officer Dr. Tom Locke said within six months the information should be uploaded to the Clallam County environmental health Web site. The county’s Web site is www.clallam.net.
Locke said Jefferson County will not be uploading such data to the Web because it does not yet have the technology. However, he said that county’s health officials have been on the leading edge in promoting good scores and educating food establishment owners and employees.
Locke, who is health officer for both counties, said Clallam actually borrowed parts of Jefferson’s awards system for outstanding health inspection scores.
