PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Fair invites the public to submit nominations for the 2022 Farm Family of the Year Award.
The fair seeks to honor a Clallam County farm family that epitomizes the spirit of the industry and to show appreciation for hard-working Clallam County families committed to the agriculture and aquaculture.
Farms may enter and nominate themselves as well.
The farm selected will be notified on Aug. 1. The honored farm family will receive free admission for all days of fair (up to 10 individuals) and two adult fair T-shirts for the 2022 county fair that is set for Aug. 18-21.
Nominations are due June 1. They should include details about the family and how they fulfill the following criteria:
• Production of quality of Clallam County-grown products (not based on quantity);
• Community involvement (civic organizations, school, sports);
• Involvement in agriculture industry organizations (local, state, federal);
• Overall farm family image, farming history and unique or special production.
Farm nominations should include the name(s) of person nominating the farm and contact information, and information about the farm (contact name, mailing address, phone number and email).
