PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Fair Royalty Princess Tea and Coronation will be at 2 p.m. this coming Saturday.
The coronation will be in the Home Arts building at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
Tickets are $5. They are available from this year’s candidates or at the door.
Amanda Little and Becky Schroepher, both from the Sequim area, are this year’s candidates.
One will be crowned queen and the other princess to reign over the Clallam County Fair, set for Aug. 20-23, and other activities.
Community service
As a member of the Royal Court, the girls will put in over 250 hours of community service during their reign.
Scholarships will be awarded to the two. The queen will get $900 and the princess $700.
Amanda, 16, is sponsored by Berneking Concrete Homes and attorney Steve Gish.
She is the daughter of Brian and Margie Little.
A home-schooled student who is a high school junior, Amanda has participated in the Christian Communicators Northwest Debate League and is involved in the Awana ministry.
She also serves in a soup kitchen in Port Angeles.
She plans to train with Youth With A Mission, an inter-denominational, non-profit Christian missionary organization.
SHS senior
Becky, 17, is sponsored by Gauthun Chiropractic.
The daughter of Bill and Tammy Schroepher, she is a Sequim High School senior.
She is vice president of the Sequim chapter of the National FFA Organization and has shown cattle and swine at the Clallam County Fair and at various shows throughout the state.
She is a manager with the wresting and football programs at the high school.
She plans to attend college in the fall and become a certified ultrasound technician.
