Concerns that a proposed subdivision will cause wells to dry up and pollute wildlife habitat were aired by potential neighbors during a public hearing Monday.
About 85 people attended the session in the Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles to hear plans for an 83-house subdivision north of Sequim.
Clallam County Hearing Examiner Ted Hunter cut the meeting short after county planners withdrew their assessment of environmental effects possibly related to development of the subdivision.
But about a dozen residents as well as a representative for the property owner were allowed to speak briefly.
“I am really worried about our wells,” said Leah Davis, who lives near the 38.7-acre parcel being considered for subdivision.
“I am really concerned.”
