CARLSBORG — What used to be a playground for Carryl Ogden and her brothers has been opened as the newest park in Clallam County.
“I’m just flabbergasted,” said Ogden, who traveled from southern California to participate in the official grand opening ceremony Tuesday evening of Robin Hill Farm County Park, west of Carlsborg.
“I just can’t say enough about how impressed I am by the number of people who volunteered to make this happen,” she said. “It is really amazing.”
More than 170 people watched as Ogden used a set of pruning sheers to cut a fir bough, instead of the traditional ribbon, stretched across the trail head at the Dryke Road entrance to the park.
Robin Hill Farm County Park is located a quarter-mile north of U.S. Highway 101, off Dryke Road.
A secondary entrance is located to the northeast off Pinnell Road, near the junction of Vautier Road.
The park consists of 155 acres, with 110 acres in forest management, 20 acres of open grass fields and five acres of wetlands.
