PORT ANGELES — Clallam County’s three special elections were signed, sealed and delivered on Wednesday as the Auditor’s Office counted the remaining ballots and the Canvassing Board certified the results.
All three propositions passed by a wide margins.
The Sequim School District replacement levy passed 7,423 to 4,852 votes, or with 60.47 percent.
The Cape Flattery School District replacement levy passed with 81.18 percent or 358 yes votes to 83 no votes.
The Joyce Fire District levy lid lift passed 387 to 283, or 57.76 percent yes.
A simple majority was needed for passage in all three elections.
Ballot return for the all-mail election was 13,396 ballots out of 23,049 ballots mailed. Final voter turnout was 58.12 percent.
“A very fine turnout,” Clallam County Auditor Patty Rosand said. “It went very smoothly.”
The results of the elections were forwarded to the Assessor’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office.
In Jefferson County, the Brinnon School District’s replacement levy was certified with approval at 361 votes, or 61.08 percent, to 230 votes against, or 38.92 percent, the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office elections division reported.
The office reported that 748 ballots were counted, resulting in a 61.87 percent voter turnout.
