Clallam County is seeking volunteers to fill 107 vacancies on 23 advisory boards and committees.
The deadline to apply is the close of business on Friday.

Current members with expiring terms who wish to retain their position are asked to provide a written statement to the commissioners’ office by mail or email to rachel.weed@co.clallam.us.
Vacancies exist on the following advisory panels, with specific categories listed where applicable:
• Behavioral Health Advisory Board (3) — Openings for representatives of: tribal; private provider of substance use disorders services not contracting for funding, and an at-large position.
• Board of Equalization (1) — Opening for an alternate member.
• Board of Health (4) — Openings for: one elected city council member; representative of Makah Tribe; representative of Quileute Tribe, and one community stakeholder.
• Building Code Board of Appeals (6) — Openings for representatives for two alternates; an architect; a civil or structural engineer; an ICC-certified fire marshal, fire inspector, or fire plan examiner, and an ICC-certified building official, building inspector or plans examiner.
• Clallam Bay/Sekiu Community Action Team (2) — Openings for an at-large member, and a business owner (Clallam Bay/Sekiu Chamber of Commerce).
• Clallam Bay Sekiu Community Advisory Board (2) — Openings for two members.
This board is responsible for gathering accurate information regarding Clallam Bay-Sekiu sewer operations, rates and billing procedures, and make recommendations to the Clallam County Board of Commissioners.
Conservation Futures (2) — Opening for: representative from Commissioner District 3 and an at-large member.
• Crescent Community Advisory Council (5) — Openings for: representative from Fire District 4; representatives of grange; area business owner or individual who owns commercially zoned property; Crescent School District Student Body; and a Crescent School District Student Body alternate.
• Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee (5) — Openings for five committee members.
• Homelessness Task Force (25) — Openings for: representatives of City government of Forks Alternate; Tribal government of Lower Elwha Klallam; Tribal government of Lower Elwha Klallam alternate; Tribal government of Makah; Tribal government of Makah alternate; Tribal government of Quileute; Tribal government of Quileute alternate; healthcare providers; healthcare providers alternate; mental health/substance use providers alternate; Department of Social and Health Services; Serenity House alternate; United Way; law and justice system; law and justice system alternate; faith community; faith community alternate; business community alternate; two homeless or formerly homeless; two homeless or formerly homeless alternates; at-large alternate; advocate for youth issues alternate, and advocate for veterans’ issues.
Housing Solutions Committee (1) — Opening for a representative of Sequim Realtors Association.
• Lake Sutherland Steering Committee (3) — Openings for three committee members.
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (3) — Opening for two collectors of the tax, and a potential user of the fund.
• Marine Resources Committee (6) — Openings for: representatives of Makah tribe; Makah tribe alternate; at-large; marine-related recreation and tourism alternate; District II alternate, and development community.
• North Olympic Library System (1) — Opening for one representative.
• North Pacific Coast Marine Resources (1) — Opening for Clallam County citizen (conservation/environmental groups).
This committee assists in understanding, stewarding, and restoring the marine and estuarine ecological processes of the North Pacific coast of Washington within the boundaries of Clallam and Jefferson counties in support of ecosystem health, sustainable marine resource-based livelihoods, cultural integrity and coastal communities. Members represent conservation/environmental groups, recreational groups, economic groups and the scientific community.
• Olympic Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council (2) — Opening for two representatives of Clallam County.
• Park and Recreation Advisory Board (1) — Opening for one committee member position.
• Permit Advisory Board (12) — Openings for: representatives of architect; building designer; building trades; certified septic designer/installer; engineer category (structural/civil); Economic Development Council; environmental consultant; homebuilders association; propane/woodstove contractor; Manufactured Homes/Mobile Home Association; land surveyor, and ex-officio planning manager.
• Planning Commission (2) — Openings for representatives of District Ic (2019) and IIb (2018).
• Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Committee (8) — Openings for: representatives of Forks and unincorporated area; Quileute Tribe; City of Port Angeles; Makah Tribe; Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe; Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe; Joyce, and law and justice.
• Solid Waste Advisory Committee (8) — Openings for: representatives of at-large alternate; solid waste industry (West Waste Recycling); solid waste industry (West Waste Recycling) alternate; tribal governments alternate; City of Forks alternate; business community; business community alternate, and agriculture community category.
• Trails Advisory Committee (4) — Openings for: representatives of Olympic National Park; a large private forest company; commercial trail business, and off-road motorized user groups.
