Many people fib about their age, but those born on Leap Day — Feb. 29 — can be more creative than most.
Port Angeles resident Heather Buckmaster is one.
She will celebrate her ninth birthday today with her family, which includes her two children.
“It is fun. I have two kids — my daughter (Kaitlin) will be 15 in a few weeks and my son (Cody) is 12,” Buckmaster said.
“They like to say that they are older than I am.”
Buckmaster was born on Feb. 29, 1968, and admits to being 36 years old.
But she says being 9 is more fun.
