Pink address confirmation cards are being mailed to 2,300 registered voters today in preparation for this fall’s countywide all-mail election.
The return postage-paid cards were sent to voters without current addresses on file with the Clallam County Auditor’s Office, Elections Coordinator Patty Rosand said Tuesday.
“If you receive a pink card in the mail, it means your voter registration is inactive,” Rosand said.
The county needs current physical and mailing addresses to send out the absentee ballots this fall, Rosand said.
Many of the current addresses on file are missing house numbers, directionals and designations such as street, avenue or lane, she said.
Since absentee ballots cannot be forwarded, they are returned to the auditor’s office if mailing information is incomplete, Rosand said.
If the pink card is not returned and the person doesn’t otherwise correct both the physical and mailing addresses on file before the 2003 general election, the name will be removed from the voter registration list, she said.
