Clallam County job fair slated for March 21; pre-event boot camp classes begin Tuesday

PORT ANGELES — The annual Clallam County Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21.

The event at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., features employment readiness workshops, resource agency information, a professional clothes closet and actively hiring employers.

More than 50 area employers will be available to talk with job seekers about open positions and application processes.

Many of the employers will also be available from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet with those who cannot attend during the work day, event organizers said.

Jobs for skilled and unskilled workers cover fields from manufacturing, retail, education and hospitality positions to finance, health care, mechanics, construction and more.

Agencies will also be available to provide employment resources such as how to prepare for employment and overcome obstacles to employment.

Attendees can choose a free outfit from a professional clothes closet, hosted by First Federal and Morningside Services.

For more information, visit www.portangeles.org or Facebook.

Persons with disabilities who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about physical access can contact Kelley Lawrence, Clallam County Health & Human Services, at 360-417-2407 or klawrence@co.clallam.wa.us.

Job seekers are encouraged to participate in free pre-event “Boot Camp” sessions at the WorkSource office, 228 W. First Street, Suite A.
