Today’s Demolition Derby will cap four days of the 2016 Clallam County Fair at the fairgrounds at 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
Another major attraction today will be the sixth annual Variety and Talent Show from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Wilder Auto Community Stage, where locals will perform and win prizes.
The $12 tickets for the demo derby will be sold beginning at 9 a.m. today outside the Yellow Gate on the west side of the fairgrounds. The derby will begin at 5 p.m. in the grandstand.
To attend the derby, visitors also must purchase fair admission. Other grandstand events are offered with fair admission.
Admission to the fair is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, and $5 for children 6 to 12 years old. Children 5 and younger are admitted free with an adult. Parking is free at the fairgrounds.
Fair gates will open at 8:30 a.m. The carnival will open at noon. The fair will close today at 7 p.m.
The second day of the Pro West Rodeo will begin at noon at the grandstand.
Throughout the day, musical entertainment, demonstrations and animal shows are planned, while midway fare will offer everything from corn dogs to waffle cones to deep-fried candy bars. More than 150 food and commercial vendors are on hand.

After hosting Cowboy Church at 8:30 a.m., the Sunny Farms Center Stage will feature Tom and Liam Taylor at 10 a.m., Black Diamond Junction at 11:30 a.m. and Luck of the Draw at 1 p.m.
A variety of demonstrations are planned at barns throughout the fairgrounds. Among them will be dog demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dog Barn, instructions on fly-tying from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Home Arts Barn and rabbit education at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Rabbit Barn.
Animal shows will begin at 9 a.m. with 4-H adult miniature horses classes and end at 5 p.m. with a horse and rider pie-eating contest.
The local best in quilts, sewing, canning, baking, woodworking, stained glass, art and photography, and floral and agriculture displays are on exhibit.
A special supplement about the 2016 Clallam County Fair was included in Wednesday’s edition of the Peninsula Daily News.
The 20-page section features a list of grandstand shows, demonstrations, musical performances, food vendors, animal shows, fair royalty and a map of the fairgrounds.
