CARLSBORG — Opponents of a crematory proposed for Carlsborg Industrial Park filed an appeal Monday to Clallam County commissioners.
As expected, Citizens for Carlsborg asked the three-man board to revoke a conditional use permit to place the freestanding chamber inside an existing storage building at 108-B Business Park Loop.
Brian Magner, owner of Gabby’s Java Hut, on Monday also appealed the issue, independently of the association.
Just when commissioners will hear the appeal wasn’t clear, although County Administrator Jim Jones said they usually take up such matters “fairly quickly.”
At least two weeks will elapse, though, between commissioners’ scheduling and advertising the hearing and their holding it.
They can conduct only a closed-record appeal, meaning new evidence cannot be introduced at the hearing.
