Clallam: Community development director candidates fight for top planner job

PORT ANGELES — The fire was turned up Wednesday night on an already heated campaign for Clallam County’s first elected Community Development Department director.

Before a County Courthouse audience that included several employees of the department, appointed director Bob Martin and challenger Rob Robertsen, a former department building official, butted heads on issues, including how Robertsen left the department in 2000 during Martin’s watch.

The forum recorded Wednesday night will be televised at 7 tonight in Port Angeles, Sequim and Clallam Bay areas on Wave Broadband cable Channel 3.

The forum was sponsored by Peninsula Daily News and Peninsula News Network.
