Clallam: Appointed sheriff will seek election to keep job

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Sheriff Joe Martin will run for the position in this fall’s election.

“I’ve made up my mind,” he said Tuesday in announcing his candidacy. “I just want everybody to know that.”

Martin is 69. He is the first candidate to publicly announce his bid to be sheriff.
