PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners Tuesday appealed a state ruling that punctuates with a question mark developers’ construction plans from LaPush to Sequim.
The appeal to Clallam County Superior Court challenges decisions by the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board that affect unincorporated areas, most of them around Sequim but also clustered south of Port Angeles, around Lake Pleasant and east of the Quileute reservation.
When the court will hear the case remains unclear.
“Generally, they [such appeals] are set out a ways because you’re dealing with an enormous record,” said Douglas Jensen, the assistant civil prosecuting attorney who specializes in land-use issues.
In the meantime, county commissioners will hold a joint public meeting with the county Planning Commission on Aug. 6 in the Clallam County Courthouse.
