The Clallam County Fair opens its gates at 8 a.m. today to the traditional sights and sounds of 4-H animal competitions.
It closes its 81st annual run on Sunday with the traditional sights and sounds of crunching metal in the popular Demolition Derby.
In between, the fair features dancers, jugglers, musicians, a hypnotist, myriad exhibits, a rodeo and more.
And don’t forget the carnival midway brought to the fairgrounds by Haworth Family Shows of Vancouver, Wash. The midway is open daily until 11 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday.
The Clallam County Fairgrounds at 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles, features more than 50 barns and approximately 155 vendors and exhibits.
Daily passes for adults older than 18 are $7 each, senior citizens 62 and older $5 each, youth 13 to 17 years $5 each, and children 6 to 12 years $4.
Passes for the full run of the fair are $18, $12, $12 and $10, respectively.
Children age 5 and younger are admitted free with an adult.
Today is Kid’s Day at the fair, and children 12 and younger will be admitted free between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Children can travel among the exhibits to answer questions on special “passports.” Those who correctly answer the questions are eligible to win prizes.
