Free public Christmas feasts are planned in Port Angeles and Chimacum.
The Salvation Army in Port Angeles will serve a Christmas Eve meal at noon Friday.
Turkey or ham and all the fixings will be served out the door at the Salvation Army office at 206 S. Peabody St. in Port Angeles.
On Christmas Day, meals will be distributed from the Tri-Area Community Center at 10 West Valley Road in Chimacum from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
More than 250 pounds of ham, green beans, potatoes and dessert will be prepared for the annual community Christmas Day meal at the Tri Area Community Center in Chimacum, said Rita Hubbard, president of Holiday Meals, a nonprofit volunteer group that organizes the dinner.
“For more than 20 years, community volunteers and businesses have contributed to the free meal,” Hubbard said in a press release.
Due to the continued COVID-19 health precautions, the dinners will be available only for pick-up or delivery to those who are house-bound.
Reservations are requested but not required by calling 360-379-4228. Reservation calls will be returned to confirm the request for pick-up or delivery.
There is no charge, although voluntary donations are accepted.
