PORT ANGELES — One sister is in jail. Another just met her siblings. And a third is so pregnant she has trouble fitting through doors, while her husband, a department store Santa Claus, suffers from gall stones.
Still, they’re all about to stage a holiday pageant at the Tabernacle of the Lamb Church in Fayro, Texas.
What could possibly go wrong?
Just about everything in “Christmas Belles,” the comedy coming to the Port Angeles Community Playhouse.
Director Jim Guthrie will hold auditions — for seven women and four men — today and Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Playhouse, 1235 E. Laurdisen Blvd.
The roles are for a 20-ish woman, two females in their 40s, two in their 50s and two in their late 50s to 60s, Guthrie said. The males include one in his 20s, while the three others are in the early to late 40s.
The play will open Nov. 21, the Friday before Thanksgiving, and run for 11 performances through Dec. 7.
“Christmas Belles” is by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, the Southern trio of playwrights who wrote “Dearly Beloved,” which Port Angeles Community Players performed two seasons ago.
