CHIMACUM — A former Chimacum High School student was killed and four out-of-area men injured in a head-on collision Saturday morning on state Highway 19 south of town.
Cody William Rollness, 17, of Bremerton, died at the scene after the 1989 Ford Mustang he was driving collided head-on with a 1988 Chevrolet Astro mini-van one mile south of the Chimacum-Beaver Valley Road intersection at 6:45 a.m.
Rollness, the son of Pearl and Curtis Rollness of Four Corners Road, attended Chimacum High School during the 2000-2001 school year.
Van driver Mario M. Nunez-Zavala of Centralia and his passenger Saul Cabrera of Port Orchard were listed in serious condition Saturday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after being airlifted to the hospital.
Two other passengers — Isidro Escamirosa-Ortega and Able Berreza, both of Port Orchard — were also airlifted to Harborview.
Their condition was not available.
