PORT TOWNSEND — A Chimacum man was arrested Monday for allegedly pointing a replica firearm at a Port Hadlock man and cutting him on the hand and throat, Port Townsend police said.
Dean Carmen Short, 26, was booked into the Jefferson County jail at 7:16 a.m. for investigation of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery. Bond is set at $75,000.
The alleged assault occurred in the parking lot of the Kearney Street Apartments, 809 Gaines St., early Monday morning, the Port Townsend police said.
The 29-year-old man who was hurt was treated and discharged from Jefferson Healthcare hospital, police said. Police declined to identify him.
The gun was a BB gun, police said.

The unidentified man was picking up a friend when Short accused him of owing him money.
A verbal argument escalated into a fight in which Short allegedly pointed a “real looking firearm” at the victim, police said.
“The victim stated he was able to take away the firearm and realized it was a replica,” police said in a Tuesday press release.
“During the struggle, the victim was cut severely on his hand and had a minor cut to the side of his throat.”
Safety markings that showed the replica firearm as being a fake had been removed, police said.
The victim walked into the Jefferson Healthcare emergency room with knife wounds at about 4 a.m.
He initially told police that he was sitting inside his vehicle on the 200 block of Thomas Street when the assault occurred.
Police said they identified Short as a suspect after receiving inconsistent statements from the victim and a witness.
Short was located and arrested with the assistance of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
