CHIMACUM — The Chemakum Tribe will host a community gathering from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The public meeting is in the auditorium at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.
The program will open with an update on the tribe’s re-emergence by Rosalee Walz, chair of the Chemakum Tribal Council.
Walz’s update will be followed by a screening of the 2022 documentary “Doctrine of Recovery.”
Selected portraits from Brian Goodman’s “Still Here, Portraits of the Chemakum,” and new portraits, will be on display.
The program is sponsored by Chemakum Tribal Services and the Native Connections Action Group of the Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
Donations for Chemakum Tribal Services will be welcomed.
