PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce will help market Peninsula College through merchandising, chamber members were told Monday.
Selling not Peninsula College branded clothing and also items in honor of the Pirates and with the school colors were broached at the chamber’s weekly membership luncheon at the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant.
“This is a great way to partner,” Russ Veenema, executive director of the chamber, to the audience of about 50.
“People tend to forget, but tire stores are in the retail business, and real estate is in the retail business, so this is something many people could work on.”
Tom Keegan, college president, and Rhonda Curry, chamber president, said the marketing is one way to have partnerships between the two.
Selling branded items and getting the Peninsula College name out into the community could increase the “college town feel” Veenema said.
Another option is be for the chamber to have quarterly educational sessions presented by Peninsula College.
