PORT TOWNSEND — An Auburn man was taken to Jefferson Healthcare Hospital after rear-ending a log truck while driving on state Highway 104, the State Patrol said.
Logan C. Blank, 24, of Auburn was transported to Jefferson Healthcare.
Early morning
He was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor eastbound on Highway 104 at about 5 a.m. Tuesday when he ran into the back of Michael S. Handly’s log truck and trailer, a State Patrol report said.
Handly, 61, of Quilcene was increasing speed uphill near Center Road at milepost 4.4 while traveling east on 104 when Blank allegedly struck the back of Handly’s trailer, troopers said.
Blank’s car was totally destroyed, but Handly’s truck and trailer were driven from the scene with no reportable damage, the State Patrol said.
Blank was seen at the hospital and discharged, Jefferson Healthcare officials said.
Charges against Blank are pending an investigation, the State Patrol said.
