PORT ANGELES — Some 100 to 150 cars are expected to be on display during the Peninsula Dream Machines Car Club’s show at the Eagles Hall on Saturday.
Admission will be free to the exhibit from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eagles Hall, 110 S. Penn St., Port Angeles.
Canned food will be accepted as donations to the Port Angeles Food Bank.
Also planned are exhibits of Port Angeles High School students’ restoration work and free National Hot Rod Association safety inspections.
Prizes from a raffle will be awarded each half-hour. Live music will be performed “8 Second Ride” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. About six informational booths are expected.
The cost to enter a vehicle in the car show or have a vendor booth is $15. All registrations will be taken the day of the show.
All registration proceeds will benefit the Port Angeles High School auto body shop.
Each registrant will receive a pancake breakfast.
The public also may attend the breakfast, which will be at the Eagles Hall from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for a $5 fee, which will go to the Eagles.
An awards ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Seventeen first-place trophies, 15 second-place trophies and one distance award will be presented. Judges will be shop teacher Dan Helpenstell and a student of his choice.
Also presented will be the president’s trophy, awarded by car club President Ed Upton, and a founder’s trophy, awarded by Bob Fowler, who founded the car club more than 17 years ago.
The club, which has about 85 members, meets at 11 a.m. the second Sunday of each month at the Eagles Hall.
