BUSINESS BRIEFS: Stairclimb fundraiser set Saturday in Port Angeles . . . and other items

PORT ANGELES — Price Ford Lincoln, located at 3311 E. U.S. Highway 101, will host a fundraiser in conjunction with the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Every person to test drive a vehicle that day will raise $20 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, up to a limit of $10,000.

There will be staff on site to accommodate test drives for a large number of people.

Fire department staff will be on-site to assist as well.

Hiring event slated

PORT ANGELES — A Clallam County hiring and resource event will be held at Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.

The event features employment-readiness workshops, resource agency information booths and employers who are hiring.

Interested job seekers are encouraged to pre-register at the local WorkSource office at 228 W. First St., Suite A, or phone 360-457-2103.

This year’s event is co-sponsored by WorkSource, Clallam County Health & Human Services Developmental Disabilities, the state Department of Social & Health Services’ Community Services Office, the state Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the state Developmental Disability Administration, Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, Concerned Citizens and the local Morningside community rehabilitation program office.

Wine awards

SEQUIM — Wind Rose Cellars has received several medals from the SavorNW Wine Awards.

The competition is a professional, single-blind judging of wines produced in the Pacific Northwest, held Feb. 21-22 in Canon Beach, Ore., according to a news release.

Wind Rose took home the following awards:

■   Silver medals for 2013 Dolcetto, 2012 Bravo Rosso and 2012 Barbera.

■   Bronze medals for 2013 Malbec and 2013 Hunter’s Red.
