PORT ANGELES — Price Ford Lincoln, located at 3311 E. U.S. Highway 101, will host a fundraiser in conjunction with the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Every person to test-drive a vehicle that day will raise $20 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, up to a limit of $10,000.
There will be staff on-site to accommodate test drives for a large number of people.
Fire department staff will be on-site to assist as well.
Energy Lunch set
PORT TOWNSEND — Tonia Buell will speak during an Energy Lunch program titled “Status of Local EV Development Activity Across Washington State” at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St.
Buell, interim director of public/private partnerships for the state Department of Transportation, represents the department for all plug-in electric vehicle efforts.
Plug-in electric vehicles include both battery-only vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Buell will describe the current status of the West Coast Electric Highway, how use of such vehicles is becoming mainstream, experiences with local charging station installations, state plans to encourage 50,000 electric vehicles by 2020 and other topics, according to a news release.
