SEQUIM — A Septics 101 class will be offered at the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The free homeowners’ overview focuses on the what, why and how of septic system maintenance.
The Clallam County Environmental Health staff and a panel of local septic system professionals are sponsoring the program.
Pre-registration is required and available online at www.clallam.net under “Online Services” or by phoning Environmental Health at 360-417-2506.
As an alternate to the class, there is an online Septic 101 video available via the Environmental Health website at www.clallam.net/Septics101.
Septics 101 is not the class to become certified to inspect one’s own septic system.
Clallam County requires Septics 101 as a prerequisite for Septics 201, the do-it-yourself septic inspection class.
Colors of Sequim
SEQUIM — Colors of Sequim will change its hours effective Sept. 1.
The fine arts materials store will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The store will be closed Sundays and Mondays.
