BUSINESS BRIEFS: Port Angeles insurance agent honored by professional organization

PORT ANGELES — Certified Insurance Counselor Steven Stratton of Port Angeles-based insurance agency Wenner-Davis & Associates was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), a leading national insurance professional organization.

Stratton was awarded a certificate marking more than 15 years of participation as a designated CIC, which requires annual completion of advanced education and training.

The Society of CIC is a not-for-profit organization of the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.

Sales associate

PORT ANGELES — After spending 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, local military veteran Kevin Gallbreath is the newest sales associate at Wilder Auto.

Gallbreath has two years of prior sales experience.

New loan officer

SEQUIM — Kathi Larsen has joined Evergreen Home Loans as a senior loan officer, according to Michele Adkisson, branch manager at the Sequim branch.

In this role, Larsen will join the sales team in serving the home financing needs of the greater Sequim area.

Larsen has more than 25 of years of experience in the mortgage industry, including roles as a loan officer and assistant vice president.

Vegan food vendor

PORT ANGELES — A new prepared food vendor offering vegan and gluten-free foods has joined the Port Angeles Farmers Market.

Thrive Vegan Cafe is owned by Tom and Janice Zellers of Coupeville.

They also will serve smoothies and a concoction called a “Green Drink,” which consists of leafy greens, organic seeds, fresh organic fruit and other organic ingredients.

Thrive can be found at the farmers market Saturdays on the east side of The Gateway pavilion.

The Port Angeles Farmers Market is open Saturdays year-round from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and accepts credit and debit cards, as well as EBT and WIC and seniors nutrition checks.

SEQUIM — Optimum Natural Arrangements Landscaping Inc. (ONA), 325 E. Washington St., recently became a member of the North Peninsula Building Association.

During the association’s Building Expo on Feb. 13-14, ONA held a drawing and gave away a custom, hand-crafted arbor to a local Sequim resident.

ONA was founded in 1977 by Tom Rankin, but ownership was transferred to Matt Ward in 2014.
