BUSINESS BRIEFS: Free legal clinic offered Feb. 18 in Port Angeles . . . and other items

PORT ANGELES — Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers will present a free family law drop-in legal clinic at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., downstairs in the commissioners’ room.

The event is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

This event allows local people to address their legal issues in one-on-one consultations with volunteer lawyers.

While it is primarily intended to assist people who are otherwise unable to financially access an attorney, it is open to all.

Attorney volunteers will be available to answer legal questions regarding family law only, to direct people to local services that might be able to assist them and to explain the legal process to them.

It is anticipated demand for this clinic will be high, so it is recommended that attendees arrive on time to ensure being seen by an attorney.

For questions, phone Executive Director Shauna Rogers at 360-504-2422 or email probonolawyers@gmail.com.

Liberry Wine release

CHIMACUM — Finnriver Farm & Cidery will release their limited-edition Liberry Wine during the Red Wine & Chocolate Festival at their tasting room Saturday, Feb. 13.

A portion of the proceeds from each sale of Liberry Wine will benefit the Friends of the Jefferson County Library, a nonprofit dedicated to raising money to support the library.

“This wine had two beginnings: a bucket and a bookshelf,” said Crystie Kisler, one of the owners of Finnriver Farm & Cidery.

“The bucket arrived filled with ruby-hued red currants grown at Tahlequah Farm on the Olympic Peninsula.

“The bookshelf is one of many at our local Jefferson County Library that has inspired and educated the Jefferson County community.”

The winemaker describes Liberry Wine as a “succulent fruit wine that is bright, pretty and floral up front, with a deep undercurrent of tannins and toast on the mid-palate, followed by piercingly pleasing, perfectly ripe, brilliant red currants on the finish.”

Bottles are available for sale at Finnriver Farm & Cidery’s tasting room, 142 Barnswallow Road.

The tasting room is open seven days a week from noon to 5 p.m.
