‘Round up’ for farms

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Food Co-op has partnered with Jefferson Land Trust to urge shoppers to “round up” at the register.

Buyers are asked to round-up the amount on their final bills to contribute the spare change to large-scale nonprofit causes.

This charitable collaboration generates donations dedicated solely to the land trust’s work conserving farmland in Jefferson County.

“Jefferson Land Trust and the Port Townsend Food Co-op are part of this community’s dedication to a vibrant and healthy local food system” trust Executive Director Sarah Spaeth said.
